HELP PROTECT OUR WILDLIFE: Florida is home to 117 species that are endangered, threatened or of special concern. Once species are on the state list, they are protected from intentional or incidental killing. However, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC) is considering changes to the regulations that protect these imperiled species. While some parts of the rule language have improved, several concerning elements still exist. ACT today! With only about 100 remaining, the Florida Panther is one of the most endangered animals in the world, and the single greatest threat to their survival is loss of habitat. Yet, plans for devastating amounts of development continue to threaten critical panther lands in South Florida counties, something the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) have failed to address.
